Meet the Team

Tayo Owosina is an insightful teacher, speaker, and author. Tayo is the Head Counsellor at YALES Initiative Nigeria, an organization committed to restoring family and schooling systems through counselling, one adolescent per time. She is the lead trainer at Mindful Edge Therapy and Training. She is a member of the Counsellors Association of Nigeria (CASSON) and a founding member of the African Network of Professional Counsellors (ANEPCO).

As a development practitioner, Tayo has a background in development project management. She is a certified transformational leader and professional counsellor specializing in children and adolescent psychology. She is trained in Mindfulness Practitioner level II, Trauma, Abuse and Addiction Recovery Therapy Advocacy, Adverse Childhood Experiences and Early Trauma from the West Midlands Authority, England. Her depth and insight have made her counselling practice integrative, combining humanistic, CBT and art to help clients heal from their past hurts, gain clarity for the moment and be equipped to move forward. She has taught Theories of Counselling, Career Counselling for Teenagers, and Understanding Children and Adolescent Psychology, to professionals from diverse backgrounds.

Tayo’s speciality and private practice based in Lagos covers life transition management (including midlife crises and adolescence), grief and career counselling, purpose/life discovery, trauma-informed care, ACEs advocacy, youth/ teens counselling and development and Teen Guide by Design, her signature program for Teen Handlers. She believes the next generation can be ACEs-free if we begin the intentional work today
